Giffords Come to Visit Day 6

We had been so busy all week that we finally had a day to devote driving around our peninsula and showing them our neighborhood and surroundings. We are so lucky to live by so many beautiful beaches so we took them on a drive around some of the places that we have grown to love. We stopped at Gulf Harbour to watch the snappers & king fish go crazy…it was a sight to see! Just as we were about to leave, we got lucky enough to show them a huge stingray that was swimming close by. The kids and I have seen plenty of them but it was fun to show my parents and Cody how big and magical they really are.

Then we headed to Shakespear Park and posed for some creative pictures in the famous picture frame. It was hilarious to see the awesome jumps we got! We pointed out all the different beaches all along the way. We are surrounded by 8 beaches, all within a 15 minute drive.

Our last stop was to one of the kids' favorite beaches…Big Manly. They love climbing in the massive tree stumps. While they played nicely together, we enjoyed watching people paddle board, sail, and jet ski in the ocean. My parents thought it was pretty funny that they use tractors here to launch their boats. As we were about to leave, an ice cream truck rolled into the carpark and had those kids and my dad over there in a heartbeat. A Gifford never passes up ice cream =)

We had gotten a free bbq on the side of the road and had yet to get a propane tank for it. So my parents gifted one to Cody and we christened it with our first bbq. We grilled up some of our favorite sausages from our favorite butcher and had some steak and fresh corn on the cob. Yum!
