We had been going going going all week...we loved showing my parents our neck of the woods! We decided to take it a little easier this day. We hadn't really explored our Backyard Beach yet so took them down to one of our favorite spots. We walked our traditional secret way down to our beach. It was low tide so we could have fun poking around in the tide pools. Unfortunately, for some reason it was a bit muckier than normal and my mom was grossed out by the sludge! At one point she took a step and landed ankle deep into a dark & wet sandy spot. We both almost peed our pants laughing so hard. My dad was in his element taking pictures and telling the boys all he knew about sea life and the different critters. We found some crabs, starfish, little fish, and lots of cool shells. We had a nice time strolling along, letting the kids splash and explore and climb and jump from trees.
Friday is our traditional pizza and movie night so we had to maintain that tradish while they were here! We had a yummy homemade pizza dinner, salad, and L&P (a popular lemon soda) in front of the tv and watched a Kiwi favorite…"Hunt For the Wilderpeople". It was fun laughing along with them and showing them a bit of Kiwi humor.
