Cody finally had to face reality and head back to work after a long holiday. While he was busy at work, we continued having fun! We live around so many charming little places and I wanted my parents to see. We drove up north and stopped at the Honey Centre. We picked up a few treats and some honey. Then we hit up a chocolate store in Warkworth and grabbed some truffles for a treat. We then headed to the wharf to eat a picnic lunch. We had been to this cute wharf before at high tide, but unfortunately it was low tide and it wasn't as pleasant! But we still enjoyed looking at the cool ships and walked along the water. We strolled through the cute town and enjoyed the small town atmosphere.
My parents love art and antiques so I took them to Matakana and stopped at a few antique stores and an art store. After we got our shopping fix, we headed to Puhoi to visit the Puhoi Cheese Factory. My dad bought everyone gelato. Oh my! It was the best ice cream we've had in New Zealand yet! So rich and creamy! We ate our cones right near a cute little pond with lily pads and ducks.
We headed home tired after a full day of exploring. We had a nice dinner and then walked along our backyard beach at sunset. It was a perfect end to a lovely day!
