Mangawhai Cliffs Walkway

We've been a lot busier with church & work but we still manage to find time to play =) We headed north a little over an hour away to our most fun walk yet! Mangawhai Cliffs Walkway was said to be the best coastal walk in New Zealand and we have to agree! It is an 8k walking loop that starts walking along the shore. You then climb a cliff and head back along the cliff top overlooking the ocean the entire way. The view was breathtaking! It was such a great walk that had lots of different terrain. We crossed over black sand, grainier sand, pebbles, millions of shells, and small rocks. We climbed over boulders and climbed a steep slippery cliff. We saw beautiful water and crashing waves. We loved the green grass and shrubbery lining the shore. All of our kids were awesome little hikers and never complained. Reese even walked most of it. One of my highlights was at the very end when we did some jumping competitions. The kids have some serious hops! It was so great to spend the day outside, exploring somewhere new, and being together. Those are our favorite kinds of days =)
