Our First Full Day

After a good night's sleep, we hit the ground running! We had one major goal for the next few days…buy a car! Sounds simple, but it was a lot of work! We spent our nights researching the New Zealand craigslist, trademe.co.nz, for potential cars to look at and then our days were spent going from dealer to dealer checking them all out. We made sure we had plenty of snacks, a packed lunch, and iPads charged for the kids to stay happy. We always made sure we popped in at a beach to get some extra fresh air and to start exploring our new stomping grounds.

The first day, we drove around local car dealers and drove to Browns Bay beach for a picnic lunch. After a long day of searching we headed home, had dinner, and fed the ducks in our neighborhood. We bought ice cream cones &  ice cream at the local grocery store, Pak N Save (similar to Food For Less), and have gone on evening walks through our neighborhood while the kids eat ice cream. They say it's a tradition they want to keep going strong!

  1. It's beautiful there! Love the ice cream tradition and the sunbeams in the last photo!
