I love the schools in New Zealand!! The kids can be kids! They can actually touch each other at recess…they can play tag, football, and any contact sport. They can climb trees. They can run around barefoot. They have a swimming pool and take swimming lessons. They have a garden and take turns caring for it. They have assemblies often and are used to getting up in front of an audience. Their music teacher teaches them the best songs and they all sing together at assemblies. And they have the best field trips!!
Gavin is in the oldest level at school so he got to take surfing lessons as a field trip! They went to a nearby beach so I popped over for a few hours to watch him. It was so fun to watch him and his classmates catch waves and be brave. I love that he gets to learn new things and do things that he wouldn't be able to do elsewhere. I love watching my kids thrive and get out of their comfort zone!
