We celebrated on Friday since everyone still had to work. We ate at 5, headed to a baptism at 7, and came back for dessert. It was great to let our food settle before we came back for more! For dessert we had: chocolate satin pie, pumpkin pecan streusel pie, and white chocolate lemon cheesecake. Oh boy. We were stuffed! It was such a great evening and we absolutely loved spending it with our dear friends. Thanksgiving was definitely different this year, but we embraced the change and loved the new memories we made.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is not celebrated or recognized in New Zealand since it's an American holiday, but we didn't let that stop us from enjoying a delicious feast with friends! We invited our good friends, a fellow American and her husband the butcher, over for a yummy Thanksgiving dinner. Turkeys are extremely expensive here…$60-100 for a bird. We didn't feel like spending that kind of dough on a meal so we opted for roasted chicken and I don't think we'll ever look back! Having roasted chicken was the best of both worlds….no dry meat while still enjoying a bird for our dinner. I'm sure the fact that our butcher friend is amazing with meat helped too =) We had all the traditional Thanksgiving fixings: rolls, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, and cranberry jello. It was all so so delicious! Cody proclaimed it his tastiest Thanksgiving yet.
